My buddy Tim and I got a very late start getting out of town on Thursday night. We and our wives went to The Depot to watch Uncle Ted and by the time the concert was over and we were actually getting on the road it was past midnight.
Still, we made it up from Little Egypt along Crescent Creek to the area around Lecleed Spring before daylight and put out cots out to get an hour of sleep before continuing on towards Wikiup Pass, Bull Pass and eventually setting up the tent on Nasty Flat and getting a good long nap.
When we got up later that afternoon, I took a step out of camp to take a leak and just about pizzed on this broken point laying right there in camp on Nasty Flat.
It was raining when we got up, which was very nice! The air was nice and cool.
The rest of the afternoon we just putted around looking at the deer, of which there were plenty – some real big ones too! As usual though, the big ones were too elusive for the camera. They were all too far away, moving, not enough light, all of the above etc. We saw a couple over 30” though, some real bruisers. Here’s a few that I did get pictures of.
The next morning, Sat., we just did more of the same. Spent the day just put-putting around the Henrys, seeing what we could see. Took a few pictures too.
