Herriman Fire

I hope we dont have any Members on here that lived out in Herriman and are any of the unfortunate ones who lost their homes. We had family out there and they live right up on the mountain so we drove out there last night to check on them and their house only to find out that they had just been evacuated 10 min before we got there. So we figured we would stick around check it out for a few minutes and see what happened. We watched 2 different beautiful homes burn to the ground and several others who had fire right to their front door and others who had flames burning down their sheds and kids play set in the back yard. It was like being in a movie, it was insane to see people loading cars with belongings and people running down the street holding items. Some of the beautiful cars and trucks, trailers etc people had to leave behind and the fire was just feet from taking it all from them! It was hard to watch as these homes burned down knowing that these poor people had just lost everything and had no clue and watching thru the windows as you could see the things in the house being eaten by the raging flames:-\ We watched as the wind would gust and the police and firefighters would run for their life as the flames blew out of control. Police driving up and down the road yelling on the PA ("Get out of here now!! this is a danger zone and we cant control the fire") These flames had a eerie blackish dark red color to them it was like some horror/devil scene:eek: I hope anyone on here if any who was evacuated will be able to return to your home the way you left it.

Sorry for the bad pics with all the smoke and very low light conditions and trying to hurry because we were being run out of the area by police it was hard to get some good clear pics

This home was just seconds from going up in flames we got kicked out before we seen if it was saved or not

This house wasnt so lucky it was in full flames kind of hard to see

The house in the back look and you can see flames in the inside showing thru the window

This is a shot from the other block of the above house burning in the back

In this shot the house really went up and lit the area up like day. And it was just feet from these houses that you see. We wanted to stick around for a second but got run out by police

Jake Macham lives a block or so from the mandatory evac zone, and he had some nerve racking photos posted on FB throughout the night.

I think Vonski is out there too. Any word? :(

Doesn't sound like anybody was hurt so that's a good thing.

It bothers me how much the news went overboard on reporting this. Channel 2 tried hard to make it far more dramatic, mainly because Chris Jones is a retard, but I also noticed the Tribune is trying to rename this fire to the 'Machine Gun fire'.. Anything to make it more dramatic.. Makes me ill.

Fox13 was calling it the Machine Gun Fire this morning.

JoeT does indeed live out there, texted him last night-- he is in Hawaii "for work", the bastard! He said his family was evacuated, along with his Jeep :p, but was not happy to receive the screenshot I sent him of the fireline. :(

Hope everyone we've got living out there is ok.

I am with you, the news last night was retarded! Especially channel 2. Drama with zero facts.

Summary of KUTV's Chris Jones last night on location: "As you can see behind me there is a roadblock with police personel. It's not so busy now, but just an hour ago it was complete chaos with frightened fleeing citizens bumper to bumper, just trying to escape the mayhem. The police are trying to keep everyone that just wants to come down to take pictures and video out. People are being evacuated from their homes, as the fire heads this way. As you can see behind me there is this smoke, that has literally engulfed this entire area.. And no, I'm not being dramatic about this - I'm just presenting it to you the way it is. We can't even communicate with the studio like we normally do with our little black devices taht use cell towers. We're having to use two way radios, as a matter of fact, I can't even hear anything from the studio at all."

... Thanks for the disclaimer you @#$*ing idiot. As if we've never seen what happens when there's a fire. :-\ Aren't you there to just take pictures and video?

LITERALLY engulfed the entire area! This fire is generating a lot of smoke, folks. I can't stress that enough.

I was pissed, trying to watch The Gates damnit, and they interrupted during several key plot exposition moments. Bastards!

All they need to do, is come on during a commercial and say, "If you haven't noticed there is a massive $#@&ing fire headed toward Herriman. In fact, it's buring out of control and you should get the hell out of the area immediately unless you want to burn alive. Stay tuned for more updates during the 10:00PM news..."

That's all that needs to be said..
