yeah I know it's not a statistical probability but any newer vehicle having a catastrophic failure and bursting into flames is a pretty rare thing these days...you gotta give me that lol

Speaking of that statistic... I was just trying to get a percentage. None of my computer calculators can compute that without error. The closest I can get is if there are 100 vehicles that have the issue, it's .018797 percent of produced vehicles. Kind of a needle in a haystack? Glad our $ are going for that kind of research. (dividing .018797% by 4 yields .00469955% for 25 vehicles -- or multiplying .018797 * .23 =.00432331% )

I am thinking really hard about picking up a JK rubicon and burning down in a blaze of glory is a risk I am willing to take.....:D

If any of you die in a tragic Jeep fire, I promise I will go to your funerals and tell everyone how statistically irrelevant their sadness is. :D

hahah yeah, Jeep will get this figured out, and like the exploding GM trucks of the 80's, this will be a cute footnote on a website in 2048.

My theory is that they are self destructing out of shame for the fugly colors that chrysler is spraying on them these days... that orange... seriously.

Seems to me that with that low of instance it would probably be owner error like splicing fog lights wrong or just plain stupid shiz, although brand new cars have been known to burn from time to time.
