The Uintas need a map to explain
My suggestion is a Benchmark Utah Atlas. They can be scored at most major book stores and many outdoor retailers, that map alone will really help you become acclimated to trails all over Utah.

There are three ponds up Farmington Canyon, north of the radar balls. The first one is good size. Very scenic.
