I think the stocker is cavitating. As there is no reason for my rig to run hot with a 160/180* stat and 3 row CSF radiator... In town it does better, at about 160/180* (whichever stat I have in at the time), but on the freeway it's over 220*.

HESCO makes them, not sure if they do for the newer Jeeps. I've had 2 of their pumps on seperate Jeeps. THey work great just a little spendy.

there is the Hesco and there is FlowKooler those are the only ones i know of.the Hesco uses a CNCed impeller and the flowkooler uses a riveted assembly .i would most likely go with the Hesco its a stronger unit but costly.

Also the Hesco looks as though it uses a stock Jeep water pump, but they change the impeller to their version. If you look at the pictures, it has the Jeep casting number on it.... Not that I care, as long as it works!

Check this out...
Bennie, from Hesco just called... He tells me that the 99-04 Wrangler all come with his type of impeller already on it. Granted, not the metal one, but plastic, but still his design. He then proceeded to tell me to check for a cracked head or maybe a lean condition. (which I honestly have not checked for, as this problem has been happening since it was pretty much new). He continued to say that the 0331 heads had a high probability of cracking. Though Jeep never issued a bulletin, they were just waiting for them to be returned for this problem and then warranted out then.

This is the type of customer service I like and appreicate. I placed a $200 order with them and he could have easily sent out what I ordered. Instead he made the effort to call and let me know the water pump was probably not the cause.

A+ for Hesco!!
