so it looks like I'm doing the Silver State Challenge as navigator in May. Friend of mine is coming out with his SCCA Viper, yee ha. That thing is the most brutally accelerating car I have ever been in on the street... anyway..

... all this talk about racing, and the track in Tooele and how close it is to my house etc etc, and what do I see in the central PA trader???


1985 Corvette w/ coolant in the oil, sat since 2002, 38k on the clock. $5000. I'm thinking hard about this one. 350's are easy to rebuild. Cage it, tires, suit up, and go? Or ignore it like I should and just walk the hell away.

HELP!!!! hahahah

Although funny, there's more to that statement than meets the eye....

Corvette's undercarrige was built so lightly that rust weakens it very quickly. It'll look good due to the fiberglass, but when you go into a turn and your drivetrain separates from the body, that makes for a very bad day.

Tacoma, and anyone else considering buying a used car: Do not EVER buy a car from PA!!!

Rust is a big issue, but the bigger issue is the fact that the car has had the CRAP beat out of it by the roads. PA, Pittsburgh in particular, have the worst roads in the nation, avoid our cars at all costs . . . unless you like pothole-seasoned cars.

Seems to me like this one sounds like a good deal but really isnt. Come home and get something similar.

I think you should hold out for a Z06:D

I took the kids out last spring and watched the Silver State. We also watched some of the Z2Z contest. Walked up and touched Big Red and took lots of pictures of it with the kids. Pretty cool experience.
I am very jealous! The Viper sounds very cool...
