I am really thinking about installing a Howell efi system on my cj-7. Wondering if anybody has used this stuff on a 4.2l jeep. Mainly looking for performance, relibility, and mileage. I have a Weber on it now it runs really good but it still coughs and sputters on the really steep stuff.
Yep, I installed one on my 86 CJ7 with the 4.2 & 4.0 head swap. I have had nothing but problems. I will say that is has good power, poor fuel millage, runs horrible when it gets cold like it wants to die. Tech support has been fair at best. I'm into my swap $1,200.00 for the kit and $400.00 for the HEI. The install was fairly easy.
Worth it? Not for me. I will be swapping in a 5.7 of 6.0 in the future.
