I believe it is a 50MM socket. I use something like a 2 incher or something close but it doesn't fit perfect... you might have to call a dealer like snap-on or maybe go to sears to see if you can get a gigantic metric socket.

I went by rocky roads and they said they don't sell them and to go to a parts store here in heber so I did they didn't now what size it was soI called RRO back and they said they don't know what size it is just use a hammer and chisal. Finally i called Spidertrax and they told me 50mm or 2inch but 2inch dosen't fit right but works. Where did you get your's spenc?

I find it is just as easy to pull the kingpins and tierod. You seem to have more control over the long side when trying to install the shaft back into the carrier.

Basically pull the caliper and set aside. Pull the 4 bolts on the top and the 4 bolts on the bottom kingpins. take the pins and nuts off the tie rod and the tap them with a hammer or use a pickle fork. Pull the spindle and axle out.

I got my 2" er at harbor freight but have since then been using the hammer and chisel trick for sake of speed. Once you pack your breaings a dozen times you kinda get the feel for the right torque.

If you are just doing the locker, pull the kingpins and bearings but pay close attention to all those gaskets and crap...I always forget to put it back together right....

It is easier to change a busted birf or inner shaft without removing the bearings too. just pull the kingpins and the seal rings and you are in business.

get used to it....breakage will happen soon....my crystal pepsi says so in your fortune....ooooooo.....

I pulled mine apart several times by the kingpins....you don't need the socket.

step 1 pull top kingpin

step 2 pull bottom kingpin

step 3 pull seal brackets on the knuckle surface.....

step 4 pull the whole assembly out 3 or 4 inches until you clear the inner carrier...

step 5 pull out the carrier...easy as that, no hub socket needed!!

That is what I did, well what spence just pointed ot. Take them there nut off on the the round thingy. Undo the 4 bolts on the spindle. Pull bolt out of the bearing area. Undo steering and pop it is out.

I did try the hammer and screw driver method on my other sami just for fun. I think thats easyer. Thanks guys for all you r help.
