I brought my TJ up to BHR on Saturday to get some work done... as I was dropping the Jeep off, the Dodge started having problems running. At first I thought it was bad fuel (had recently topped off the tank), but the problem ended up being a dead lift pump. Redd was in the shop working on his very neat buggy project, he offered me space in the shop, use of his personal tools & got on the phone right away to order a replacement lift pump. Without Redds help, I'd be waiting until Monday to get the truck fixed, 300 miles away from home. I just wanted to post up to thank him publicly. Thanks Redd! :greg:

I went with just the FASS pump as I didn't want filters under the bed so they could jell up.

Ahh... I'll look into the FASS pump. Not to sure how long the replacement pump will last, since the first only lasted a few months.

That cool Greg, Nice to see a good shop in town again. BHR eh?? Might have to look them up.

Yep, I'd be SOL w/o Redd taking time out of his day & opening up the shop for me. I don't know what I would have done, stuck in SLC with a dead truck & trailer in tow.

If you haven't been to BHR, you really need to check them out. They do amazing work, I spent some time wandering around the shop drooling on all the projects.

You should definitely check them out, Shawn. Top notch shop with top notch employees. And stuff to drool on when you visit.

I think the FASS is a really good idea on the newer Dodges... Cured a lot of people's ills, to read about it... I'm thinking about one for the !@#$#@ K30, even w/the rotary pump.
Redd's friggin' awesome, too. :D

I think there are enough people around here you could have called. All the better to fix it though. Did Dodge just hand you one? Too late now but Gillette Diesel stocks the FASS pumps, you could have bought the pump and fixed it right.

We got one from NAPA(?) I think it was, mabey CarQuest? I didn't think any shops would be opened at 4pm on Saturday evening, I was happy just to get it running again. It was easy enough & I didn't have to deal with changing fittings, mounts & fuel lines. Perhaps I'll have a slightly-used Dodge LP for sale soon.

I had to smile when I read this post because Red is a stud. Great guy and one heck of a fabricator... :D

Also, just to boost some ego, :) I have never been disappointed working with Ben Hanks Racing...

Yep, totally agree with you Nick!

I am going to do a write up of the changes BHR has made to my rig for the compass. Excellent work and thoughtful design.

That would be neat to see, I was checking out your CJ5 since it was in the shop. Looks like it has come pretty far in the last little while. ;)

So are you gonna tell us what your having done, or is it a big surprise;)

Some work... :p They're doing the stuff I didn't want to do! The TJ is getting a cage, some plumbing, exhaust, drivelines, minor fab work, etc. I've been working a lot recently and have had very little time to make any progress on it. I just finished working 16 straight, 12 hr days down in Vegas on the 6th. And tomorrow I'm headed back down,

When they're done, it'll drive, steer & stop. There will be some work left to button up before it's actually 'done', but I'll be leaps & bounds ahead with their help. I'm looking forward to the fab work they're going to do, especially the cage.

Redd is a great guy for sure, as are all the guys that work at BHR. I'll see your buggy this morning as I need to make a run up there.

Yep, the Dodge is running great. I know it wasn't much of a big deal for you, but you saved the day. We really appreciated the help. :hickey:
