I know some of you guys are from the area so I was wondering who can point me in the right direction for some good single track around the Hurricane, Virgin, and Leeds etc..

I checked out the Hurricane Loop/Goose Berry Mesa trail and it's BLM public lands so open to all except for most.

I will be heading down 05/27/11 - 05/29/11

Do you need someone to ride with? I may be bringing my WR down.

Russ, this is my buddy I ride with all the time. You guys should hook-up and do some riding just to make me jealous :p. I told him you were probably heading down there this weekend too. :)

I cant speak for Noah but some good single track would be fun. Maybe something that would give a good variety. I have ridden the hell out of the area behind Sand Hollow at the end of the Dam Road so I know that area well. Just maybe something a little different.

of what?????????????

that is pretty random advice. :eek2:

what kind of riding you looking for. i have rode bikes here forever, if you need some trails let me know what you are looking for and i will give you something

I thought it was obvious, but some of the trails around Hurricane and St George follow the rivers and they are expected to rise over the weekend.

I have already checked out the Santa Clara and the Virgin and they are not too bad right now but I know it can change quickly. I wear my jock strap and a couple of arm floaties just in case.

Noah came by and picked me up and we ended up driving up to the test track above Virgin and unloaded there. Apparently, this test track is used for supersonic tests with the last test being some sort of sled with a canopy on it testing ejection seats. It was posted heavily and the signs said it was being watched with cameras.

We took a dirt road that the BLM has listed as a ATV/Dirtbike trail and it ended up being a well graded road. I couldn't believe how pretty and green it was up there. There was lots of pastureland with a lot of ponds. We saw several snakes, cotton tail rabbits and the usual lizards and a couple of frogs. We took a few side roads and they all ended quickly. The road ended in Zions Park on the rode to Kolob Res..

When we got down near the town of Virgin we took off on another road which turned in to a really fun trail with lots of whoops and washes. We followed this trail all the way back to the road that went back up to the mesa by the test track.

I didn't take many pictures but I had a great time and got to know Noah.

Thanks again Noah.
