You could probably find information from Europe. I know in some countries, driving isn't allowed until 18 or 21. Drinking on the other hand is not only legal, but encouraged from the age of 12.

Probably a lower DUI rate then. They'd all be past the belligerent phase of drinking and onto the casual type by the time they're ready to drive.

You are more able to learn the skills necessary for driving when you are younger. A scary driver is one that has never driven and then gets their license at say 25~30.

IMHO we should leave the age at 16 but make it MUCH harder to get your license, say more training, harder test and required time with a certified instructor (think pilots license). But then it should be your drivers license until removed for a medical reason or as punishment for a felony.

That, and in Europe alcohol isn't treated like some mystic potion of hell that transforms everyone into drunken felons who play a motorized game of one eye squinted bumper cars in the school yard at recess just to get a reprieve from the every day drudgery of raising (and beating) their quiver of illegitimate children.

It's funny how the more we try and legislate alcohol use (and sexual education for that matter--but a different thread) and shield our precious children from being exposed to responsible adults drinking, the more problems we seem to have.....

All people that work in/about/around an oil field are toothless rednecks who lack social skills, self awareness, and think one day Bobby Johny from chevy car 121 will enjoy a fine hungry man with them in what they consider to be a particularly modern double wide.

generalizations are fun. I entertain myself with them all day.

I missed this the first time, but I'm thinking.. maybe I should take some pictures. You are not incorrect on this one.
