hydraulic steering

Can you guys throw out some names of companies that make full hydro pumps with brackets that will fit a regular chev 350. All i can find is brackets for LT1's and newer motor like that. Somewhere i could use a hydroboost pump to power my ram??

yep, just did a little searching and most companies are using the p style pump. PSC is the main one offering kits it seems.

Edit: There's also Howe and Performance Offroad Systems...again, all are using the p-style pump.

I'm running a stock autozone pump for an 80's ford van. It is a Saginaw pump and runs my full hydro great. When I put together my hydro setup, I read Bilavista's article on full hydro setups. He has a chart in there that shows stock pump psi's in stock vehicles. The ford van was pretty high psi for stock. It works great and cost $75.00.
It would fit right in a stock factory chev bracket. I've never had one minutes trouble with it.

I think one of the major problems people have with full hydro setups. Is caused not so much by what the power steering pump flows, so much as not enough volume of fluid available in the system.
I have a huge amount of oil in my hydro system. If you just run a p pump with no cooler (or a big reservoir) then the pump has a tendency to run out of oil to push.

another thing i hear to be carefull of is what orbital valve you use some will turn you tires way to fast and others will take 6 turns of the steering wheel to turn the tires

Are you looking to buy a kit?? If so my personal preference is HOWE! Its for sure not the cheapest but the service and product are worth there weight in gold! If you looking for something cheaper I would buy a psc setup! They both offer kits to fit your motor! As far as HOWE goes the craftsmanship on the cnc billet machine bracket to mount your pump to the motor is amazing! HOWE also offers a TC series pump which has alot of volume and flow! The p series pump will work for a while but the TC is by far better! And if you want to get real crazy they also offer a desert series pump which is bigger and has even more flow and wont cavitate at high RPMs as in desert racing! I would be happy to help ya with any other questions ya have!

I've met ya once when I use to work at bens. Like the cummins swap in the chevy truck!
