I have an old combine out behind my house that has hydrolic assist and I was wondering how I could put this on my 61 f-250 4x4 or my 93 Cherokee, I haven't decide which to put it on yet but I don't know exactly how to go about doing this??? Any help is apreciated. Thanks :D

well heres the thing the kit at Rock Logic has everything the combine has, just the combine stuff is green, nothing a little paint can't fix. The combine even has the valve, and everything on the combine is free. But anyways if I did put it on the Cherokee would I leave the power steering too?

You can drill and tap the cherokee steering box to accept the hydrolic assist ram. Check here: http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2756

Thats cool, Iam now wondering if RockMonkey used regular power steering fluid or if he used Hydrolic fluid in the power steering setup? Also how does it work without the valve when you just drill and tap your power steering box??? Thanks. :D

Isn't power steering fluid basically hydrolic fluid? I'd just run a quality steering fluid and you should be fine.

Anyways, the power steering box acts as the valve, to turn itself, but when ported it will move a ram also. So basically the steering box has its own valve inside of it, and the hydro assist is an accessory to that.

yes PS fluid is hydro fluid...usually just a lower end hydro fluid...the PS setup use the PS pump(with a few mods to up the PSI) and the box...really all you do for assist is add the ram into the equation...you may be thinking full hydro steering which would replace the box and PS pump with a valve that creates the pressure and feed it to a ram(s)...another thing to make sure is that the ram you have has the correct stroke you need...if it is too long you will buist you knuckle if it is too short you loose turning radius...FWIW

Thanks, What kind of mods will the psp need? and I don't plan on doing this until I put full size ford axles under it. Just wondering what all I will need to buy before I get started.
