Should I bother with going to an IMAX to see it?

I dont see why not. Bigger screen, but unlike Batman The Dark Knight, Star Trek was not filmed with an IMAX camera so its not necessarily going to be BETTER..but with a bigger screen and more bass, it could be awesome! :D

I will say, I'm not a Trekky by any stretch of the imagination. I went and saw Star Trek with my team on Wednesday and it was a kickass show! I'd recommend it to just about anyone. It's a good enough story that you don't have to have any idea about the past shows or series to understand what's going on, but yet if you know what's going on, things click. Good Show.

This is how I am and I agree! It was one of those shows that when you left the theater you had to step back into reality as if it kinda felt like you were there. I loved it.

I saw it finally too, and it was filmed with Win-coated lenses! So much better than I expected that I am posting in a nerd-filled Star Trek thread to say so. Color me impressed. The effects were right on the edge of being too... busy, but inventive camera work saved the day. I really liked it.
