...you purchase a cup of fruit, or a fruit plate of some sort, and it contains cantaloupe. Seriously, I want to EAT the fruit, not spend my time keeping my fruit away from the cantaloupe so it doesn't become contaminated.

It has to be a cost savings thing for the seller. They don't want to give you an entire cup of good fruit so they use up 50% of the capacity of the cup by putting inedible cantaloupe in it. It's kind of like that gross jelly stuff around spam, except I bet that jelly stuff tastes better.

I love canteloupe, but it's gotta be one that I picked out since I have a knack for picking awesome juicy canteloupe. I do understand what you mean, as I am the same way with honeydew, like Toad..

I like both cantalope and honeydew. (I disagree with the "loupe" spelling, no matter which is correct...)

Cantalope is awesome with a little bit of salt sprinkled on it, too. MMmmmm.....

Dammit, Merriam-Webster says cantaloupe is the correct spelling. Now I have to adjust my entire way of thinking about that fruit. :mad:

Cody for President of the Melon Haters Group. Actually, the Melon (Fruit) Haters Group. I nominating you for the the later because I am with you. Haven't eaten cantalope since I threw one up deep sea fishing 30 years ago. I can't stand the smell either.

Cody, I agree with you totally but I seriosly don't recall the last time I "ordered a cup of fruit". Seriously my kids don't even want that in the happy meal. To each his own.
