I HATE seized bolts!!

I finally found the time tonight and this weekend tear tear my Tacoma down and throw the new suspension on. It didn't take long for me to hit a snag and quit. A stupid bolt beat me! I've pb blasted it a few times, used my impact wrench on it, and a bfh. Nothing!

I know every forum has been over it a million times but what's going to be my best bet to get them out? The 2 that are stuck are one on each side of the truck, the front leaf spring bolts.

I got the nut off no problem, without an impact. The bolt doesn't turn at all. Not with a breaker bar, cheater bar, impact or anything. So would it work to do it my way? Any reason why I couldn't?

It's most likely seized to the leaf spring bushing sleave.
Cut the bolt with your trusty sawzall and knock the thing out with an impact hammer or if it's really bad replace the leaf spring bushing sleeve and bolt

Sometimes using the impact , the bushing absorbs the shock to the bolt . Try using a wrench with a ratchet that has a long handle. If ya can get the nut loose form the other side back it off til its near the end of the threads ( to protect em') and hit it with a big fn' hammer. they get siezed in the sleeve. Pb blaster works great .
If ya have a torch , heat it up till it turns red , let it cool , then hammer it .

I've had the same problem. Ended up having to sawzall the ends off, and then cut out the whole sleeve and bushing from the spring. It was NOT easy!

4" grinder is my weapon of choice, super common on Tacoma rear leafs. I've got the oe bolts in stock if you need a pair. FWIW I cut on the inside if the hanger right against the spring, drops right out.

Hey tyson if you'd be interested in selling those factory leafs to anyone who'd want them six states or best deal spring can press in new bushings for dirt cheap. Could be better for your wallet than throwing them away or even scrapping them, that is if anyone is interested in your take-off leafs. (i might be if the dimensions match what I need)

So the bolts still wouldn't budge this morning so I cut them off with my angle grinder. I've never done anything with leafs before so I've got another question. The bushings that came with my allpro springs seems too small. The inner part is way smaller than the diameter of the eye, but the outer part of the bushing is just barely bigger. Is this normal? I know they are supposed to be pressed in but I thought that the bushing would be solid all the way through. Am I wrong? Also, Six States is closed today so where else around Orem can press them in for me....if they are the right bushings.

Big o quoted me $85. I don't want to pay that. No one else does it. I know Steve has a press but he's out at the training thing all day. I was hoping this would be a quick project for the weekend.

You can press them in pretty easily using a ball joint press, if you don't have one they can be borrowed at most any parts stores.
