Yes, its true, after a year of smoking nastieness I finally made the decision to give it up cold turkey, because thats how I roll. I got a lot of information about cold turkey quitters and lots of cranberry juice to keep the blood sugar levels up and I dont get that fogginess that I got when I first tried a few weeks ago. And if your wondering, NO I didnt smoke while I was pregnant, and not while I was breastfeeding...about 6 months after caulen was born.
So, wish me luck...its gonna suck some serious ass, but totally worth it!
YA HOO!!!:D

If that doesn't work you could do what I did. Just get drunk, smoke about 3 packs in 4 hours. Wake up with Bronchitis, don't go to the doctor for two weeks. Couldn't touch a cigarette while I was sick. By the time I was better, cravings were gone. That was about 10 years ago and haven't smoked since.:)

Thanks everyone. I truley despise it and have been totally embarassed about it since I started. I guess somehow at the darkest part of my postpartum deperession last year I thought that maybe it would be a good idea, against my better judgement of course. I truley wish I never started, but I figure its only been a little over a year and if I dont do it now I might never.

Wishing you luck like you asked, but it's sounds like you've got this handled. I've known a lot of people who smoke and the ones who quit were usually the ones who really made up their mind and went cold turkey. Hold strong, it's worth it.

Good job, Amy! I've been done for about 8 months now and it's the best thing I've done.

Honestly, if you do need help, Chantix was great for me. No cravings or anything, definately worth looking into if you have a hard time.
