I think that only good things can come from TA buying RE. I work closely with TA daily and customer service is fantastic! I also worked with RE before they shut down and the customer service left much to be desired! Good products? Yes. but not so great service. I just hope that TA at least keeps the same product line (or adds to it) because customers seemed to be pretty happy with the products. (besides some bad bushings due to a few bad shipments) I hadn't heard about this buy-out but I hope it's true!

Well I think the move is good for Rubicon Express considering they went out of business earlier last year. So if someone that had millions of dollars of market presence offer to buy my out of business company and resurrect it... I would probably let them.

I'm would imagine 4WP would try to make them into their premium brand.

They are of more use to the 4 wheel drive community alive than dead.

You are incorrect sir, I just bought new parts from them in January.

R/E announced that they were temporarily closing there doors in 2/11.

I don't see how TAP buying out R/E is a bad thing, you have the largest aftermarket off-road accessory company with the largest budget and R&D abilities buying another quality product that was going out of business.

Personally, I don't know why you have such a negative attitude towards TAP Co's...
Procomp used to be a joke with suspensions, now they are one of the leading lift kit manufacturer's on the market for trucks and suv's. Yes, there jeep kits are not as nice at R/E's or Tera's, maybe thats why they are buying R/E.

Look at Smittybilt, they used to be a very low budget product line, but with the backing of TAP, they are now leading the market with new product design. And there quality will match anyone else on the market. Do they have problem's, yes, but look at how many products they sell, look at the percentages of problems. not any worse than any other company.

just my opinion though.

Most of my Jeep questions at the SLC 4WP were answered with "let me put you on hold while I look it up for you". And it wasn't fun being sold shocks that were too long for my Jeep a few years back. That being said, when I lived in Co Springs I was good friends with one of the managers and his brother until he died from cancer. They now have a Crawl to Cure Cancer in his memory. One of their mechanics even did some stuff for me on the side in the 4WP garage. Great group of guys they had there.
