I should help my brother more often

My brother needed some seats for his old Blazer so I took him out for his first trip to the pick n pull. We found some nice seats for him and while I was there I found one of the elusive XJ dana 44 rear axles !!!!! And with my 30% off coupon it cost me only $99. I should help him more often.

It's been there over a month, I keep telling people to go get it, but....
Glad someone is going to put it to good use. :)

How do ya get one of these? ;) I need hundreds of dollars worth of junkyard parts for my new mustang and that could help. :D

Thanks, Brad J

They gave me a coupon book up front at the check out register because someone had taken an axle shaft out of the xj dana 44. So I used the 30% coupon for the 44 and the 15% coupon for my brother seats. Now I just need to find a passenger side axle shaft. The coupon book was a summer promotion, so ask up front and maybe they will give you one. Or wait till the next 50% off sale.

That is a sweet deal, i got mine for $65 because they thought it was a 8.25. mine was missing the drums. You can get a shaft from Six states.

Hi, Dana clueless here, how do you tell if its a 44?

There is an xj here (State Street Auto, Springville) that I believe has that same axle. It looks HUGE compared to a 30 say from under a Cherokee.

Wants $5oo, but would save huge amounts of headscratching or Fab work, if it is a 44.

why don't you just order up some alloys then carry the one for a spare.aren't both shafts the same lenght?

That is most likely what I will do, the shafts however are not the same length so I would need two spares. Maybe I can "borrow" my son in law's 44 axle shaft that has been sitting in my garage for months, maybe he won't notice.

Thanks, think it is in retrospect.

44 front, 8.8 rear, Heh, Bad little Van.............

(didn't mean to hi jack........)
The XJ 44 he's referring to is a rear. Sorry. All XJs had dana 30s in the front.

Yup! You SHOULD help him more often... his blazer needs some serious TLC.... then next time you're out at the pick-n-pull maybe you could find something fancy for his beautiful daughter's bright purple TJ... ;) ;)

Well there are lots of minivans out there, maybe we could cut your jeep through the center and add a van section so you could haul more of your friends around. :)

Naw.... if I needed a mini van I have ready access to one that is sitting out in the driveway waiting for my little brother to learn how to drive it! ;) Although... you might be able to convince him we could splice it with an old jeep and make it way mega super cool! :).... :ugh: ...Yeah, probably wouldn't go for it...
