I don't know if it would work but I am told it is a Saginaw off of a Superduty (V10) it has the serp belt though.

Its yours if you want it.

Thanks for the offer but it wont work. I need one actually for my secondary power steering pump for the rear steer. I had a guy cut me out some brackets to locate it on the pass. side of the motor. Just need the pump and the bracket that he designed them for

Rob......It would take me a long, long time to get a tow rig and trailer as nice as yours. As for the beater....when you get your 440 and 4 link in.....I would say were equals :greg:

Rear steer valve is one I got from Northern tool.

The guy that cut me out the brackets is running a similar valve. Basically you run a secondary power steering pump to this valve, run lines from valve to ram, wire in a toggle switch or push button depending on what you want and there you go. I saw his working at the Idaho Top Truck last year. It worked well. It is for sure the cheapest way to get rear steer hooked up.

Cheston, if you are using a bumper pull (receiver hitch type) trailer, be sure to get the tongue weight proper. I've had good success using a tape measure to get proper tongue weight - measure bumper height with the trailer disconnected, then measure the same place on the bumper with the trailer connected, then measure the same place on the bumper with it loaded the way you want to travel. My '03 Dodge dually tows my bumper pull trailer the best with the bumper dropped about 1.25" to 1.50" with full load. This is with no air bags, just springs.

Bathroom scales use springs, like your tow truck suspension, to measure weight, so you're just using your truck's built in bathroom scale (grin). Your loaded height will probably be somewhat different than mine, but you will definitely need some drop to ensure good positive tongue weight.

Hope to see you in Moab - we leave next week!!

Hey brother, I was looking for some updates and I was sadly disappointed.:-\ What have you been working on? How is the Scout looking for EJS? Where are some pictures? You are killing me here, bro.

I havent been on the puter much in the last few days. Been trying to get more sleep at night. I have been dead tired lately. Like almost dangerously tired. I havent had a day of rest on over 2 months. There has only been 2 days where I didnt work at one job or the other and those 2 days were dedicated to the Scout.

Anyway....Im done crying now.

I will get some pics snapped today. Like Mitch said...we have been making progress. I think it will come together pretty quick this week. It sucks that Im not going to have a test run but thats OK. Even if I haul it to Moab and it doesnt work at least I will be there and will have a few days of rest! It will look pretty sitting on the trailer.

Mitch has been awesome! He is the best brother any lazy man could ask for. Without him working on it, it wouldnt be done until this time next year if I was lucky!

Thanks bud!

EJS will be the test run. I think that is about the same amount of testing the Scout got before TTC. It looked purdy sitting on the trailer last time out also. I need a brother like Mitch!

Well....progress for today.

Front axle got bolted back in, rear axle got yanked and tore down, spiders welded, welded perches, just need to throw it all back together.

We also fired the motor for the first time!!!

We just put a old crappy carb on it and dumped a little gas down it just to make sure everything was good. It ran for a few seconds but would die. It just wasnt getting enough fuel. We will now hook the propane back up to it and get it tuned. It seems louder than the old motor but it might just be exhaust leaks.

Mitch also did a ton of other stuff with wiring and my rock lights and whatnot.

All in all it was a pretty good day for the Scout!
