Ive got a slight problem

I dont know if I can make these tires fit. They measure a full 53"

On the jackstands the Scout is about 1" lower than it was on 44s so you can see the difference. I knew it would be tall but wow!

I really need 47s but I dont have the money to get them :-\

I'm pretty good with at sawzall, and I will be there the end of February through the first Monday in March. I will even have my tools with me. They will fit, trust me.;)

Well........after 4 hours of trying to think of ways to make these monstrosities fit....there is no fesible way.

I can make them fit but the Scout would just be to tall with them. The body would be 16" taller than it used to be. Its just not going to happen.

If I didnt have to raise the body so much to clear the axles I would be fine just cutting fenders and whatnot but its just clearing the chunk thats killing the deal.

There are 46" Michelins on ebay for 550 plus shipping. I think thats the way Im going to have to go. They would be a lot more managable.

For the record tho.....I did mainly buy these just for the wheels. I love the wheels and the price I paid was worth it just for them to me. It would have been nice to be able to use the tires to but what do you do? I could move the motor back about 3' then I could drop the body 7" and cut fenders to clear these but that sounds like work.

What are you coming up for Rob? Stan told me but I cant remember. Looking forward to seeing you guys tho!

I feel you. I had a set of 53's I couldn't help but buy, I kept them for about 6 months trying to figure out something to build with them. Baerpaws and I stood out there looking at them for hours trying to come up with something we could make for them, and neither one of us could make it happen.

I borrowed a 49" Goodyear from Boyce to see if it would fit better than the 53.

BINGO

It fits great! I love the look and the ride height and I will only have to make minor adjustments to make it clear when fully stuffed and turned.

I hate these tires though. I could make them better with a groover but I just dont know.

My batteries died so I didnt get any pics of the front but it looks good. I will get some tomorrow

I sure wish I could find a cheap set of 49" Iroks :-\

Looks good Cheston!

I don't think cheap and 49's can occupy the same sentence in this physical universe.

Are you planing on using a panhard with that rear steer and those heims on the shackle mounts so it doesn't flop the body side to side?

Wow! I didnt think of that. I guess I can try it and if its to bad I can add a panhard then.

The leafs are only temporary tho. I still want to link the rear. Just need the money to do it. Maybe next winters project??

Got the coilovers mounted and weight sitting on them. Coil rates will work great!

Just have to gusset and finish weld everything on the suspension now.

I ordered front steering parts today and Im still waiting for my pinion brakes

Check out this pic I found of the 47" Growler sitting next to a 49" Irok.

The Irok is on a vehicle and the Growler is aired up but still....pretty impressive to me.

I think Im going to bite the bullet and just get the Growlers. I might have to lock out the rear steer for now but I dont want to spend money on military tires that I wont like and not be able to get my money back out of.

I still wish it was a Rocker. Maybe someday
