I will get some more pics of it for you.

All I did was cut up my old tie rod from the dana 60 for it. I got the tie rod adapter inserts from PSC that make it so you can run a 3/4" bolt threw. The heims on the outside are 7/8" with misalignments so that makes the bolt 3/4". On the ram side, a 3/4" heim will screw right into the end of the ram. The heim actually fit inside my sqaure tube decently so I cut it to length, drilled a hole then cut the sides of the sqaure tube out. I was hoping to leave it like that but it didnt look right so I cut some round tube and welded it on the sides then flap wheeled it smooth. The heim can move way farther then it will ever need to and it should be plenty strong. It isnt the prettiest tie rod but it should be stout and it will work.

Unless I remember wrong I thought you said you were wanting the 47" Growlers. If so then this may be a blessing in disguise. The Growlers are labeled as an all terrain. Not the hard core tire you are used to.

They may be called an all terrain but the lugs are 26/32 Deep....same as the Rockers. They just have smaller lugs but there are more of them. I think they would be great tires. Not as great as the Rocker but still better than a swamper.

Right now I would be happy with anything. Im pretty worried about the tire situation

Edit: I'd like to see more pics of your steering ram & tie rods. I have that same ram and could use some mounting and tie rod inspiration. :)[/QUOTE]

Here you go :D

The ram is mounted to 1/2" plate. Then I wrapped 1 1/2" sqaure tube around it. I was planning on plating the whole bottom with some 1/8" plate but I dont think it needs it now and it would just be a mud/oil catcher. I will just weld some good gussets to the plate and I think it will be more than strong enough.

Let me know if you want specific pics or have any questions

I found out today that Pitbull has the 44" Rocker in a 20" wheel in stock. I just dont know if the 44 will look to small now. I would like to run 44s just because the Scout would be bomb proof on them. Im still mad about the 47s tho........

Well once you get it rolling, lets take all 4 tires off the crew cab.

Then mount them up, flex it out, and see what you decide.

Well....Im getting some tires.

Im getting Byron's 46" Baja Claws that he ran in TTC.

Not my favorite tire at all but they will work and the price is right.

They will get me by until Pitbull makes a 49

Hey.. if they work, they will work, right? I think that those cut Claws will look pretty good on the Scout! Are you going to run them backwards like Byron did? Also, are you going to leave the suspension set up for the 49" tire instead of changing it since you only are running the 46's??

(Wow... did I just use the word ONLY in reference to a 46" tire??? That would just be unheard of a few years back!!!)

We will definately need some pictures of this once you get them mounted up!!!
Later brother,

Im planning on getting them mounted up then decide what to do with the suspension. Im pretty sure it will stay the way it is (no time anyways) and hopefully they wont look TOO small.

As for running them backwards....I dont know. They worked very well for Byron that way. Ran the tank trap with no winch! Just have to see

well.. you know... it won't matter much what's in front of you when you can't keep the motor running more than 5 minutes at a time. :D

hehe

Very true.

It turned out to be the heads that were the major culprit. Several if not all valves were not sealing right. They went to the machine shop and I need to go pick them up. Also, the bearings in the bottom end are toast. Funny what 5 minutes with no oil will do to a motor

Anyway, the new motor is almost ready to go in. I ordered a gasket set and it will be here tomorrow and thats all that Im waiting on. It should be a screamer! Close to 11 to 1 compression!

I know!!!! They keep scheduling me for more and more hours at my stupid "part time" job to. Im scheduled for 38 hours next week and I have a house to install trim on to.

Wish I could quit. If it wasnt for my little bro, nothing would be getting done.

Honestly tho.....when I thought I wasnt going to find any tires I lost a lot of motivation. Having that problem solved is helping

Work is overrated

What sucks is if your not working you have all the time for projects but no money to fund them and if your working you have money but no time to work on them.
