I was able to check out Cheston's Scout and I cannot begin to tell you how frickin tall this monster is. The front axle is not sitting on any tires but is supported by jack stands that, if I remember correctly, should be about correct with tires on it. I am six foot and I was looking at the top of the hood. The rear cargo area of the Scout is so tall that I could not look into it. With the step into his rig at about my arm pit. I just cannot believe how tall this sucker is. In today world everyone is trying to get by with less and doing more. Not Cheston and his family! Bigger is better is the motto at the Beck residence. It is funny to see a vehicle sitting in a home garage that is so tall it cannot be fully seen from the out side. Once inside the garage you can see that the rig sits about 6 to 10 inches taller and that the garage door, when open, barely clears the cage on the Scout. Unbelievable!!! Thanks again for all the fun and games.

I might get some stock drums to bolt to the hubs and roll it out on them.

either that or take the coilovers out and suck down the back end with a comealong and roll it out.

Hopefully it wont be to much longer before I start that fight

How tall is it?

It is right around 5'10 at the top of the grill, but at the base of the windshield/hood intersection it is right around 6'1" or so.. I haven't ever exactly measured it, but I know that the window opening is right around 6'0.
Here is a picture of it when I had the old TSLs on it

and two of it in front of my 7' garage door with the new Pitbulls...

This was with the original set of body armor I built for it(I called them the wings... those of you that have had to buy that certain item for your significant other know what I mean by the name:(...

As promised here is a couple pics.

The tires arent mounted yet. Just set a wheel in to see what it will look like.

And the new motor.................SEXY!! Heads are done, just got to get them home from Idaho. Should be being delivered on Thursday for me

and look. a real, unmolested oil pan!

I do have a problem mounting the tires.

The wheels came with the stock Rockwell rubber inserts for the beadlocks. The bead on the 53s were 1 5/8". The bead on the Claws is about 1 1/8" or so. So the inserts are to skinny if that makes any sense.

Solution?????

I have 3 Toyo MTs from the superduty. They happen to be a 20 also. I am going to cut a bead out of the tire. Instant spacer! From my rough estimates they will be about 1/4" to wide. Nothing that I cant just suck down with the bolts.

Yes its ghetto but it will work......kinda matches the rest of the Scout eh?

Ive got to get the 3 bad tires dismounted and the 3 good ones mounted tomorrow morning. When I wrecked the Superduty last fall I found a full set of good tires but I only needed the one mounted since I only popped one. Just been lazy but now I need to get them done.

I was going to do it at work today but they were going to charge me 50 bones!!!

I will take them to Les Schwab in the morning. Well see what they charge me.
