sorry about not getting back with you on the tires i have not checked this thread out till yesterday,

that invitation for tire mounting is open to you and anyone anytime i got the equipment there to mount them but can only balance a tire up to 35in

rig looks awsome we will have to meet up some time and do some wheeling

also where is the best place to get a co2 tank i think im going to go that route since its about the same price and building my on board air off my ac compressor.

Thats awesome! Thanks for the offer. Im sure I will hit you up on it sooner than later.

No pics from today but got the heads and the intake on the motor. Got the ram for the rear steer. It is very hard to mount a ram on a Rockwell with leaf springs and a great big pinion brake.

Eventually when I buy a double ended ram for it I will most likely move the tie rod to the front of the axle. Not an option right now so I will be running the ram in front of the axle with a high steer arm and leave the tie rod in back. Should work ok. Im not happy about the high steer arm bolts but it will do for now.

I only have 3 weeks or so till Moab. I kinda doubt it is going to get done but we will see I guess

By my understanding we have about 19 days until April 4th. That still gives you a little more than two weeks to get it done. I have seen how fast you can move when you put your mind to it. I don't see any real reason you cannot get it done in time. What else do you really need to finish?

Both axles need to be pulled out, gone through, finish welding brackets and weld spiders. Of course a coat of paint. Front steering needs to be plumbed so I need hoses made. Rear steer has not really been started on so thats the biggest item. Motor is mostly together..waiting on parts to arrive. Put hood, fenders, doors back on. Need to try to seal the wheels better. They leak to empty in about 4 hours. Need to break one wheel down completly and redo it. Wiring under the hood will need some adjusting due to the new battery location. I need to find out whats wrong with my shifter..it dont want to shift to first, just drive. Im sure there is some more but thats the majority. Its not really all that much but when you have absolutely no time.....you see the problem.

I will work on the house tomorrow from 8 to 8 then hopefully I can still stand and work a couple hours on the scout. I want to get it out of the garage and into the driveway so I can yank the axles and work on them in the gargage. Gonna try to yank it out tomorrow night.

I will just keep plugging and hopefully Mitch keeps helping. It might get done...might not

I think the photos make it look bigger than it is. But then again im used to having my truck around too.

Its impressive, 46's almost look small.

Looking good!!! Especially now that the skins are back on it! As far as the pictures of the Mrs go... just let her drive a little in Moab and take a bunch of pictures then!! That will make up for it! HEHEHE!

Couple more pics.

Tore the front axle down, welded the spiders up good and put the gears back in it. I got all the welding done on the front axle as well and started painting it. Just need to replace some seals and figure out my loose kingpins and slap it back in.

Also, got a trailer to haul down with. I will most likely be buying it buit Im taking it for a test drive to moab first. Its a 28' Big Bubba triple axle bumper pull. Tent trailer will sit on the front and the Scout will fit on the back still :greg:

I think I decided today that I am just going to lock out the rear steer til after Moab. The rear steer is the thing that is going to take the most time and its not necessary for Moab. I have 75% of the parts is what sucks tho. I need a power steering pump and bracket out of a late 70s Ford or Lincoln car with a 460 if anyone knows where one is in a junkyard. Then I need hydro hoses made and run power and switches to the solenoid. Not a big deal but time consuming for sure. We will see I guess

holy crap!
That's a serious trailer Cheston.

Progress looks good buddy. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

On a side note, please post up some info or shoot me a pm regarding the solenoid valve you're going to run for your rear steering. I'm in the market for one myself. :)

You know, that if you show up with nicer trailer, off road rig and a tow rig than I there will be trouble! Your Scout is already much better than my Beater and you are trying to close in on my trailer. If you keep upgrading then you will have to replace the tires on your trailer and your rigs. Don't let that happen, man, don't let that happen! Just kidding. Looks killer though.
