If you, Corey, and the whole family don't make it to EJS this year........... Man are you going to get teased. You may even want to find a new place to live, and maybe even a new hobby. New names, heck maybe even a new country to live in. Just kidding.

You know I can't help but think that the scout really only needed a new motor. I don't recall it needing new rockwells or new tires and wheels. I could be wrong due to my memory failing and all. I also don't recall the scout needing coil overs or any thing like that. I forget things sometimes as I get older but, I just don't remember any of that being a problem.

think of it as a really expensive way to fix the axle hitting the oil pan problem (oh ya...I had air bumps...scratch that)

I never claimed to be a smart feller

I know the logic. I lifted the dually six inches just to replace the ball joints, pan hard bar joints and align it. Makes perfect sense to me now.

How much are those Growlers? I really think those are more of a snow/ sand tire. What what 47 LTB's

I think retail on the 47 is about 550. The tread depth is 26/32!!!! Im sure they will work great in the snow and sand and Im expecting them to kick butt in the mud.

You really think they wont do well on the rocks? Im expecting them to be as good as the Rockers. With there being so many smaller lugs there is going to be a TON of biting edges. Unlike the Rockers, I see potential to groove the growlers as well. If they dont do so good on the rocks I will groove them till they do. LOL

All I can say is I know they will perform better than the 49" military goodyears. Plus they ony weigh 160 lbs.

I do like the LTBs. I dont think they make them in a 20" wheel tho. 17 was the biggest I saw

got the heads off the motor. Nothing WAY out of the ordinary. All the valves were different colors which I thought was odd. Dont know if its normal or not.

And my pinion brakes showed up! I got them from Kert at DIY4X.com. He does good work and has excellent prices. Ive bought multiple parts from him in the last few years. No dissapointments! And yes that is the International harvester logo cut out in the middle :busted:

According to UPS my front steering parts will be arriving tomorrow. I also have the day off so I hope to get a few things done

Keep the updates and pictures coming!!! It helps those of us who are too poor to do any modifications to our own rigs! This is one of the threads that I look forward to everytime I log on.

It is about time you get something done on the Scout. Really, it is coming around and soon it will be ready for your choice of tires. Don't settle for something that you will want to change out again in just a short amount of time. You don't want to be purchasing tires twice, trackin'?
