Got quite a few things done the last couple days.

Brakes are bolted up with calipers, rear shock mounts done, front ram and tie rods are done, tubing around front ram mounts is done, track bar is attached to axle and Mitch got a lot of gusseting done Front driveline is hooked up but there its only in the splines about 1 1/2. Gonna either lengthen it or get a spacer made for now. Rear will need to be extended about 5"

Found out I had a few bad valves so that probably was my motor bug I was fighting.

Im pretty dang sure its not gonna have rear steer before EJS. Money is about gone :-\

I know the traction bar is ugly but it will work. Its the old one from the 14 bolt. I didnt want to spend money on something that is temporary. The rear is going to need to be linked I think fairly soon so.....

I was twisting the pinion with my hands and it was making the leafs move a little bit. 6.72 gears are pretty dang low

That's what happens when you are such a Super-Man... cut back on the Wheaties a little and you won't have anything to worry about there bud!!!
Seriously though... keep up the good work and I am sure you will not have anything to worry about for EJS! Have you considered a square front driveshaft?? Not exactly balanced, but if it is not spinning all the time like in our Dodges then you don't have to worry about that right? Plus you can make it super strong and make it have almost unlimited slip!
Just another idea to throw into the melting pot of ideas that is your head right now!!!

I thought about it a little. The Rockwells have drive flanges tho so the shaft will be spinning at all times. It wont be under a load but it will be spinning. Still might end up that way tho

I like my wheaties dangit!

Mine are 2" with 1/4 wall tube. They will be probably 150 ea. I might just do the front myself with a peice of tube. Get the back done professionaly. I dont know.

Do you want to sell me the slip yoke off this Rockwell driveline I have of yours? It will go on my back driveline perfectly then I can just run a normal 1410 joint back there

Your welcome to it, Id just like to have one back for a spare.

Tom Woods also said the thickest 2" they had was .120 wall, so thats what mine will be.

How do you like those flex joints on your rear shackle hanger? I am building some shackle hangers and I was wondering if they are worth the cost and time as opposed to a urethane bushing (which is lots less work in my application)? Do they help much in the flex department?

I don't want to jack the thread from Cheston... but I am getting 24" of travel out (per rear corner) of my rear spring over set up with standard urethane bushings in mine.....rear truck flex.jpg
I have wheeled with Cheston and he gets good twist.. but I am sure if you set up the suspension properly, it is not necessary.. the only thing the busing would help with is taking the spring "twist" out of the equation during flex. You know when articulation occurs the spring wants to rotate either clockwise or counterclockwise depending on compression or droop of the axle... so that is the only thing I could see the joint helping out more than a urethane bushing.
Just my $.02 for what it is worth.

I like them but like Matt said its probably not neccesary. I was VERY surprised at how well the rear flexes. When I built the bars above the rear tires I thought I put it like 6 inches to high. The opening looked huge so I thought I would have TONS of space. Yup....tires stuffed so hard it still hit the bar. Im glad I didnt lower it like I wanted to.

I think using these joints is a good idea.

If you have a flexxy suspension....bushings will wear out pretty dang quick. So this way thats 2 less bushings you have to buy everytime they wear out.

Plus its just one more place to use Summit Machines cool parts!

:freak::bow:SWEET!!! Can you still rotate the rear pinion at all with the anti-wrap bar welded in solid?? Or did you cut back on the Wheaties like I suggested?????
Looks good bud!

Thanks Greg!

Im getting pretty excited to get it back together.

I got bad news from Mike at Pitbull tires tho. He was trying to get a set of 47s made specifically for me but the production plant hasnt gotten back to him yet so he said thats a bad sign.

I dont have a clue what Im going to do for tires

47" rockers would be SWEET!!!!

The build looks great Cheston. Can't wait to see it rolling again.

Edit: I'd like to see more pics of your steering ram & tie rods. I have that same ram and could use some mounting and tie rod inspiration. :)
