I like the idea of these "rat" things, but what exactley is the point, to look as getto as possible but look cool. Or is it the don't care attitude. Just curious

That makes a lot of sense Greg...I've seen the "technique" just never heard the name. Sounds like fun. Keep us up to date.

Like I said above, you make it what you want. If you want the most ghetto looking car & to make a joke out of it, you can. Like that rusty 4 door in the Moab Car show pics. Personally, I the bare-minimum look... a 40's-50's style hot rod stripped down to the bare minimum is called a Modified. A bike built the same way is called a Bobber. I want to mix that with a Ratty look, I want a low-buck ride that is just plain bad-ass. Loud, fast, rusty and lots of attitude. And cheap... did I mention cheap? If it's a car or a bike, I'd like either built that way.

I don't know that I'll start one anytime soon, but it's an idea that I'll keep running thru my head. I really need to finish the Dodge first. Then I might have to build a matching bike. :D

By that definition I guess this could be considered a rat motorcycle

wow, can't believe I never saw this thread before...I have been wanting to do just this for quite some time now. There is a bike that looks just like the one in Greg's first post but it's painted green and looks like it has a custom seat that I see atleast a couple times a week heading out toward Magna...this could be done on the cheap to...way cheap

I'm tellin ya...hard tails are a ***** unless you do a springer seat or something. I have to put the miles on...even just using one for a bar hopper!
