Alright guys...I am wiring up my 94 Wrangler but I cant figure out which wires go to the ingition and which is the power and what not...I'm just worring about the ignition/steering column right now...does anyone know what color of wires I should be concerned about or what each color goes to??? A wiring diagram would be great too if anyone has that...I tried to look at the schematics in the back of the haynes manual but they said all the wires should be yellow(which they are not)...any help would be appreciated...thanks

Can you go to the libray and see if they have a diagram?

Or

Call Painless and see if they can fax you one.

Just a thought.

I was going to try the library tomorrow and see what I can find...that painless part is done with...all except one wire which needs to hook to the ignition wire which is one of the wires I need to locate...maybe I will try them anyways...

I do not know if this will help but on my 84 the wire you want is a fairly large guage red wire with a white stripe I would try to tap into it from the engine side of the firewall instead of messing with the rats nest under the dash. Also you may have a resister wire that you will have to remove because the GM distributers use full voltage.

well that is part of my problem...I am starting over from scratch basically...I gutted the entire dash and engine compartment...I just have the wires coming down the column and need to figure out what is what...thanks

The ignition wire should be yellow according to everything I can find. It should be hot during run and start.

Thanks guys...I figured it out tonight (amazing what a multimeter will do:D) the yellow wire goes to the starter and its hot only in start there's a blue wire thats hot in run and start and a red wire (go figure:rolleyes: ) thats the power source so it should be pretty easy from here...

one last question though:p there's only one wire that is hot in both run and start but I have a couple things (fuel pump etc.) that need to go to this wire...should I run this wire to a distribution box and then to individual "circuits"??? what do you guys think???

I run a distribution block on my Jeep. Blocks from like 89-99 S10 trucks, they are about 8 bucks at the dealer. They work great, they have 5 terminals, you run one hot in and it powers them all up. I could post a picture if you need

If you could get a pic that would be cool...we use distribution blocks on our boats at work but I wanna see what the automotive type look like...
