Warning mild RANT :p (but at least I can say I'm the best there ever was at intalling Toyota clutches because I've done it soooo much!)

Last trip to Moab I drove PSM, GBR, and GS without a clutch because my master cylinder blew. Upon replacing it the throw-out bearing started to squeal shortly after. So I once again dropped my transmission (I swear I've had it out at least 15 times in 5 years for various stupid reasons ) to find a perfect looking clutch pressure plate and disk with a non existant pilot bearing, and a trowout bearing with no... um... no bearings :ugh:

I bought the clutch kit from Autozone with a lifetime warrantee which is good, but the kit comes with "MADE IN CHINA" bearings which is not good. So I found a pilot bearing from work that is a Japanese SKF (good stuff), but being a Sunday I was forced to use the Chinese throw-out bearing from the kit.

Long story short: I drove home from Moab changed bearing, and parked it untill my 1500 mile trek through Montana's backcountry, then to Richmond to fix and exhaust leak today, and quess what??? The T/O bearing is squealing again!

Hmmm guess I'll pull it AGAIN! so I can head to Moab this weekend...

Moral? Toyota's are made with Japanese parts, and that is why they have a reputation for being reliable... Don't use Chinese parts for anything on Toyota :D
