I'm Looking for Old Photographs of 4x4's

I taught the History of 4-Wheeling class out at the Quarterly 4x4 Training Day this weekend and I thought it went pretty well, but one of the things I felt that it was lacking was period correct pictures of vehicles on the trail and contemporary vehicles that had been modified.

So I'm looking for historical pictures of 4x4's during the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Primarily I'm looking for pictures of vehicles on the trail. I'd also like to have pictures of vehicles that are modified during these era's to demonstrate how throughout the history of 4-wheeling there have been varied and different forms of modifications and how they've developed over time.

If you can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it. Send any digital pictures to: stephen {at} iconiccamping.com. If you've got physically copies you'd be willing to let me use, shoot me a PM and we can work out a time to meet and I can get them scanned.

If you provide pictures, I'd of course give you a name check at the next presentation for providing them.

Thanks in advance!

Well these may not fit what you want exactly but they were fun to dig up. It seems back then we took pictures when we made it somewhere rather than while we were traveling. These include a shot of my dad's 48 willys, our 59 Chev Apache, our 70 chevy 3/4 ton a friends wagoneer and another friends Land Cruiser. Added a few from around 85, my old 72, brother's blazer and my dad's 85, old international from the 60s.

Those are great, Dave! Thanks. Do you know about when each photo is from?

The Willys shot is from the early 50s, the old wagoneer was in the mid 60s, the 59 chevy picture was fall of 69, the 68 and 70 chevy pictures was the fall of 74, the camping shot is spring of 74 and the rabbit hunting one would be late 60s. I could get more if I scanned some more of my old slides. The old 59 was a tank, we went everywhere in it. It was an old forest service truck that we got on a government auction. It was fun to take it to strawberry and see everyone trying to hide stuff when they thought the forest service was nearby. My dad sold it when it became nearly impossible to find parts for the old Namco installed 4x4 parts. I'd love to have it back and put some newer axles under it.

Yeah my cousin should have been pointing it up in the air. There is a gap between my brother and the rest of the group but not as much as there should be.

I already snagged a few of those, enjoying the others! Thanks Jack, would be more than happy to bring over a USB drive or DVD if you have a bunch to share.

Great pictures Jack, I figured if anyone had some old wheeling pictures it would be you. We used our old 4x4s back then to get to the best hunting, fishing, camping, and rockhounding places not so much for group wheeling adventures.
