I'm starting a new forum/site...

It's called Home Improvement Forums.

Basically, it will be a forum for all things about home improvement. Working around the house is something I've been doing alot of & I'd really like to gain more knowledge. It's an honest intrest & I think it will be fun. I've always liked tinkering with projects around the house, now I'm taking the chance and making a forum out of the subject!

I've learned *alot* with RME and I want to take what I've learned & apply it to something with the potential for more traffic. You will see alot of similarities between the 2 sites, but hopefully Home Improvement Forums will outgrow RME by leaps & bounds, as it's a much wider scope & a better known subject.

If you're intrested, feel free to register, but please don't post yet. There are alot of changes still to come and I don't want it active for use quite yet.

Obviously there will be alot of color and scheme changes, the board is the 'stock' look right now.

What I'd like from you all is.... feedback. Look it over, tell me if something looks wierd or out of place. Or if you have any suggestions on additions to the site, let me know.

Here it is!- http://homeimprovementforums.com/index.php

Just noticed the emphasis on *alot*!!!! I thought you were subliminally giving me a hard time. :D

PS I build killer garage work benches. Maybe I can get some plans drawn up and posted over there when it's up and running.

Yeah, I was giving you a hard time... :ugh: Actually, I'm probably one of the leaders in writing 'alot' on RME. What can I say, I'm lazy!

Yeah, garage benches would be cool. I'd imagine the garage forum will be seeing alot of use, I know I'll be in there alot ( :greg: ). I already plan on doing a little post about coating the garage floor in the new house!

Ok, for everyone... I know the forum is huge. There's alot of places to visit and since it will be new & empty, it looks even worse. I have been thinking about making the 'Improvements by Room' section disappear, then adding at again, once the place begins to fill up.

Good idea or leave it?

BTW... I'm trying to make appeal to both sexes, hence the 'Cooking and Entertaining' forum. If any of the ladies on here have suggestions from your point of view, I'd love to hear them.

Sounds like a great idea. I was going to post in Chit Chat about my 12x16 shed project. So now I'll wait.

Good Idea...till the size warrants the need for the extra forums ;)

Even lower than the one I've got here. :ugh:

I think it'll be a cool forum. I've screwed up my fair share of home improvements, so I look forward to learning from it.

Mines lower too.....though I wish it was like, 4. Oh well. Home improvement is pretty fun. I've helped my parents and friends do projects on their houses and such. Always great to learn something new.

I consider myself (as well as most of the women in my family) to be rather crafty, so I think it would be a nice idea to have a do-it-yourself craft section in the patio category so you could cover all those girls who don't cook...as much... ;)

Great idea. It seems that I've been doing nothing but home improvement projects lately and haven't been getting anything done on any of my auto projects :-\ The best part will be when I get the other half hooked on this home improvement site.........then she won't be able to b!tch at me about always being on RME
