Insulating a Garage.....

Damn, it's COLD! Frickin' snow.... -_-

OK, here's the deal. My garage is a built outta cinder block, with no insulation. To make matters worse, the celing is wide opened so you can see into the trusses. I have a Propane Heater & it makes some diffrence, but all the heat usually escapes thru the roof in about 30 minutes or less after the heater is turned off. It really sucks for working in.

I'd like to seal off the rafters, but here's the deal. I'm in a rental, so any mods have to be cheap & very removable. There's been discussion about using the pink 1" thick (4'x8'sheets) house insulation, but that's pretty involved in putting up and taking down. Plus, it probably costs a pretty penny.

Would it be worth it to use large sheets of plastic, stapled to ceiling? Any other suggestions?

I was working on my chassis last night and it was 26 degrees in the shop I was in, that's why I wear layers. :D I totally know the feeling, I was hoping not to have to work on my stuff in the cold this year! But I have to finish before Parker does.
