Interesting factoid about Pritchett Canyon...

Everybody who has had the chance to make a full run through Pritchett knows about the infamous Yellow Hill. Here's something that I learned last week about Yellow Hill.

I always assumed that Yellow Hill was some sort of limestone or sulfur... but interesting enough it is actually Carnotite which is "a potassium uranium vanadate mineral".



Go figure.

Not sure who Bob is, but drtsqrl was with us Tuesday evening and we got talking about it.

I wish I had more time to learn about geology. I might have to pick up some books and hike around more often.
