I've been subpoenaed...

...to be deposed. As Meat and Timp will remember, I witnessed a trailer vs biker accident in AF Canyon. It was almost a year ago, and we were heading up to a service project. We got behind a dude pulling a trailer. I was driving my Scout and Meat and Timp were driving behind me. The road up the canyon was full of bikers. The dude pulling the trailer swiped one biker in a group and sent him tumbling. He was ok, but his buddies almost beat the sh*t out of the driver. Meat and Timp stepped in to break it up.

I handed each of the guys my card and offered to be a witness if one was needed. Biggest mistake ever. Since then I've been interviewed over the phone 5 times by various investigators, insurance people and legal aides. Pain in the ass. Now I've been f'n subpoenaed to appear for a deposition.

I will never offer to be a witness again.

I always say... "way too much paperwork involved with sticking around"... make sure everyone is OK, help with any needed first-aid, recovery and bail!

I have been in a couple depositions. Remember you get to charge them for your time, gas, hotel. what ever it costs you.

The last one I was in the lawyers were being a little rude so I told them with my job the only time I could meet would be after 7:00 pm. There were 14 lawyers and aides all pissed off at me at the end of that meeting.

If you are subpoenaed for it. did you refuse to do it?
