I blew the stock axles on my cj5. I'm looking to upgrade and have a fried with a j10 he is considering selling. What all is needed to sling the j truck axles under my cj5? Would anyone be willing to give me a hand or do it? I would love to work out a trade for what is left of the j truck after swaping the axles as well.

I have a ford 9 inch coming out of my CJ7 in the next couple weeks if your interested in that, J truck axles in a CJ are not really ideal. The WMS on my 9 inch is 61-62" with 31 spline chromos and a spartan locker

Need specifics of the J truck (year, transmission). Pre 80's will have the front diff on the passenger side, which is what you want. Same as Waggy axles, but that's a general term. Axles came in two versions, wagoneers and Cherokee chief. Wagoneers were 60" ish wms to wms and Cherokee chief were 65" ish. I had wagoneer axles under my CJ 5 and a buddy with the "wide track" - Cherokee chief under his. I'm thinking the J truck uses the wider version. Yes, you need to outboard the front on either and watch the rear axle as it may be offset as was mentioned before. What are your build intentions? What are some specifics on your Jeep?
