Jeep Dana 44 cherokee shaft lenghts?

I have a rear Dana 44 out of a late 80s regular cherokee and I know one shaft is longer than the other. Can some one school me on these lengths? I have a spare shaft that came with the axle but discovered it is not from the cherokee but is a 44 30 spline. I want to try to make it a spare by changing the bolt pattern but need to make sure the lenght is allright.
