K i got at 82 cj7 with a 4'' lift and 33's.....Getting the thing called the death wobble...When i slow down both the front tires look like they are wiggle off the jeep..lol...Ant help what this might be??...I have new tires so balancing should be fine...Any help would be great...thanks

No track bar to check on a CJ. ;)

Check for loose nuts/bolts, then check your alignment. You can check toe-in pretty easily, and eyeball your caster, compare to factory-- caster angle should be available online somewhere for a CJ. :D If that checks out, well, more info is forthcoming I'm sure.

Something is wrong! and it must be discovered. :squint:

my 85 cj has a 4 inch lift and the caster never changed from the stock springs to the 4 inch springs... I would say either your alignment is out or that you might have a bent rim that causes the alignment to be out... take and change the tires front to rear and see if that helps if it doesn't it rules out the bent rim and then go get an alignment...

How are the bushings on the springs? are they old... sometimes getting new ones helps this too..

if it is on slowing down it is not death wobble per say.. start with getting your tires balanced, then check for loose crap, then alignment, then come back and search for death wobble and read through about 100 threads all saying the same thing :)

You say its just when your slowing down it sounds like warped rotors to me if it only does it when your on the brakes.......

the only time my old XJ would do it is when im driving along as soon as i would hit a pot hole it would send it into uncontrollable mayhem

Well, Since no one else threw it out there, I will. Anybody ever heard of the Ackerman angle???? It is a specific relationship concerning the center point of your tread to the center of the tie rod ends. Obviously this changes when most of us put aftermarket wheels on our rigs. I run full size Jeeps, and I have experienced it on several of them. The one that I have never had issue with is my current J20. I am running chevy inward set wheels.

Anyway, there is one thought on the matter. Google it and draw your own conclusions...
