have a jeep cherokee 1989 with a 4.5 inch lift. if i make it 5.5 inche of lift, will i have to do anything to driveshafts or slip yoke eliminatior?

It would be a good idea to do a slip yoke eliminator. You will need a new (or at least modified) rear drive shaft with the SYE.

i always say anything above 5" needs a slip yoke eliminator.how ever you could get luck.once the lift is done and the yoke has been replaced do a quick measurement from yoke to yoke.you might be right in the magic number to be able to use a stock front shaft and there are plenty of those around for cheap.
