Is the oil pressure sending unit one of those things I should only get from the dealership, or are the parts store units okay? I need one for the WJ.

I bought mine from AZ for my XJ and didnt have any issues with it. Works just fine.
I had the 4.0 HO motor if that helps

Thanks. I ended up picking up one from the dealer today. It was about 25% more than an autozone. Hopefully it lasts for the remaining life of the vehicle. I'm sooo relieved that was the problem. I didn't want to replace an engine (or a vehicle) right now.

I replaced mine with a parts store part and been 6 years without issue. I should have checked this earlier today, I get parts at cost from Hinckley.
