Has anyone ever had the zipper replaced for the rear window on their soft top? Any place to recommend for it? Davis county area, preferably, but will certainly go further if need be.

The rear window zipper on my soft top has been getting bad for awhile but it totally crapped the bed this weekend. Just not working at all anymore. The dust on my ARB fridge was half an inch deep until it started raining and all turned to mud .

There's that upholstery shop on the street that Rays muffler is on (8th south?). If you head to the west end by the freeway, there's an upholstery shop on the south side of the road (two or three shops from the end). They fixed my top after I rolled my Jeep and have done a few other things for me. Pretty reasonable price and good turn around.

The Tent Man ended up stinging me for over $100 when I needed a new zipper on some canvas, and did a crappy job to boot. What's a "pretty reasonable price" for a new zipper? Because if $100 is industry standard, I'm going to buy a heavy duty machine and go into business.

Awesome - thanks! I'll try and get over there and talk to them sometime this week.

Is the zipper shredded or just not zipping? If not zipping back it up to a zipped area and squeeze the zipper head with a pair of pliers. You need to close the gap from the front to back a little bit then try it. Might need to do it a couple of times to get it just right but try not to over do it, I have a fanny pack that I cant move the zipper on any more, over did it. Haven't tried prying it apart yet.

I had Sugar House Awning do one for me about 10 years ago. They were reasonable back then. Can't speak to their prices now, but if I recall correctly, I had them make a new rear window for my CJ5, with the zippers off my old one, and it was like $75.

The pulls are shot, for sure. Got a little more life out of them this way, but they seem to be just completely worn out internally now - soft aluminum, lots of dust and dirt in their lives. As it is now, the zipper doesn't close when the pull is moving. Squeeze it closed a little and it just doesn't move at all. I guess I can hope the pulls can simply be replaced. But I'm willing and ready to have the whole zipper replaced.

Yeah, sounds like they're to far gone for the squeeze trick now.
