JK axle steering options

I'm about to swap a set of JK Rubicon axles into my 98 ZJ Grand Cherokee. I have almost all of the parts together, except the steering. I know I should really wait till I have the axle mounted and centered to measure for the drag link, and thats what I plan to do, but my question is more of what material/rod ends and configuration should I use?

The JK axle has under the knuckle full crossover steering. My options are to use the standard JK style steering, leaving it under the knuckle (TREs are the same as TJs).
I could upgrade to the larger style witht he heavy duty TREs that still have the smaller TJ taper.
Or, I could go over the knuckle, ream out the holes, and run heavy duty TREs (which would be cheaper and more readily available shoudl I ever have to replace them).

I like the bottom idea, but I'm not too thrilled with the idea of running a conical insert. I also can't find any write ups of anyone doing this to a JK, and I can see that space is limited between the Tie rod arm, and the drag link arm on the knuckle.

Anybody have advice?

I think the JK tie rod end taper is larger than a TJ. (pretty sure, actually--at least the drag link, so I assume the tie rod is also)

I don't think there's room to put the tie rod on top of the steering arm on the passenger side, so whatever you do is going to be underneath like stock.

For the drag link you can do whatever, either using inserts or just reaming for a larger TRE from the top. (assuming you want it from the top...)
