Who else here is into vintage jeeps and military resto's?

I'm a huge nut for classic jeeps or military vehicles of any type. I've been restoring/driving both for years and really love 'em. I was a member of a great vintage jeep club in TN and really miss it since coming back to UT so I've been thinking of starting a similar group out here and wondered how many other folks on RME were into the classic stuff. I know that there are a lot of hot rodders on here, so I figured that there must be some old school wheelers on here too.

Oh, and post what ya got too.....with pics if ya got 'em:D

Thanks!

My dad and I are working on a full restoration on a 47 CJ-2A. It will be back to original condition, period correct.

Now if i could just find a capstan winch somewhere.:D

Nice! I'd love to see the Bantam and the the jeeps, thats great!

I really want an M100 or M416 for my M38-A1.
I've got a couple of OE rims for the 2A if you want em? I had a '46 2A, really miss it, I want another one, maybe when I sell my Dart. If you need any parts let me know, I've got some good sources.

My dad has been in club for years. He has a Dodge M37, 41' powerwagon, CCKW, M35, a halftrack that he's been working on for a while now. He sold the jeep that was used in the movie Saints and Soldiers that was crashed into the ditch at the end.

Cool, I'd love to see his stuff. I haven't been to any of their meetings yet, but have been in good contact with Layne since I moved back out here. Seems like every month there has been something major going on for me on the last thurs. and I haven't been available, but I'm looking forward to the next one. I've met a couple of the guys in the club and they seem to be a great group. I was thinking more about starting a vintage jeep club. The one I was in did a lot of fun outings, parades, shows etc. Lots of fun to cruise to, and go on an outing with 20 '40's-'50's-'60's jeeps, I really miss it.
We did everything from good trail runs, to cruise nights and car shows. I just wondered if there was any interest from anybody here.

BTW...it physically hurt to see that jeep wrecked.

When I was younger we would go to the West Jordan, Wendover, and Hill airshows where the club would have it's own display area for the vehicles. They also did parades and a few trips out to the West desert.

This is what I drove to school my senior year. :)
