If you drive a maroon buggy with a 5.7 hemi in it. Don't worry, I carried your tool box full of oil out of Metal Masher for you! I'm not sure why you decided to drain your oil on the trail when you had no oil pressure, then towed your buggy out. Of course minus the five quarts of oil left behind in the plastic tool box.
Thats all, just had to get that off my chest.:D

That IS bullsh*t. That is just ridiculous, lazy. Hopefully someone knows this tool so he can get called to task a little for it.

Thanks Rockdog.

If you saw them do it, why didn't you chase them down and put it back in his buggy?

I still would've chased him down, given him back his oil, and told him he left something behind. Asshats like him need to know they can't get away with crap like that, it hurts us all in the long run.

Well, let me tell you a little more. We ran into these guys going in. They were wrenching on his buggy. I stopped to ask if they needed anything. Guy in the Jeep says. Not unless you have an oil pump for a 5.7 hemi. He has no oil pressure so he's pulling the pan.
So we head on, run into Mark Bryson who's tailgunning on the official trail run. He says we can't go any further on unless we stay behind the group. We didn't want to infringe on their group. So we ate and turned around and went back.
Thats when said oil was found where he had drained it. Just so you know. I had to fill the thing with sand to keep it from sloshing all over. I carried it for two days so I could return it to the seat of it's rightful owner.;) Never saw him again.

I take it you've never run into a drunken redneck packin a gun before? You never know what you'll encounter, especially durring EJS. Rockdog handled the situation spot on and I'd like to thank him for that, so quit trying to bust his chops. It's way too easy to armchair quarterback...

I'm not trying to bust anyone's chops. I just pictured rockdog watching some dude leave his oil on the trail, picking it up, and following him off the trail. After explaining what actually happened, he did the right thing.

I would have said something if I had seen him leave it, but in this situation it wasn't an option.

Leaving a tool box full of oil almost sounds like an oversite to me. I mean, if he was THAT negligent and stupid, why even waste the toolbox? He at least had the thought to contain the oil in something which usually means it is intended to be taken care of. Hard to say I guess.
