Keeping the kids entertained

Since my wife has has been put on bed rest for the next month in hope she will stabilize and stop being so sick. I have gotten most of the next month off, well not really I am watching the kids and trying to keep them entertained so mama can get the rest she needs.
I have been trying to find stuff for the kids to do and the other day we went and just did a bunch of window shopping what a disaster, I was ready to put them both in a bucket of water with their hands tied behind their back. Then yesterday we went to a friends house in Tooele and that went well. The kids had a blast. So today I tried something new we went to the rock wall in Ogden my youngest (20 months) was not able to do much but play on the bouldering mats, but my eldest ( 4 on June 10th) got to climb. He was wiling to go about halfway up the wall before he decided that he wanted down I got him to climb about 5 times before he decided he wanted to stop. I even tried to bribe him to climb to the top by telling him that there was a free pass to the McDonalds for a kids meal and a afternoon in the play place it did not work but we did have fun until he decided he did not have to listen and pulled the top rope and got the figure eight knot stuck at the top that was when we were done because I am trying to get him to understand that there a consequences to his actions. Here are a few pics of him having a ball on the climbing wall.
By the way if you have any ideas to keep the little ones entertained in the Ogden Layton area please pipe up.

My kids enjoy the Dinosaur park and the train museum. You can buy a season pass for what it cost for the family to go 2 times and it gets you into both placed plus the Tracy Averiery for the next year. Theirs also some kids art museum that is hands on in Ogden, I don't remember the name. Its good time for the kids on a rainy day. If there are any space shuttle booster test coming up out at ATK then take them to see that and promontory point museum. There are a lot of cool rocks to play on and the booster test is just plain cool. If I remember correctly I think a test is coming up soon.

I want to avoid places like Chuck E Cheese. I am interested in places tghat will inspire them to think not burn through quartes

Most neighborhood parks will keep my kids entertained for several hours.
Anything with wildlife is big. At my folks house we would walk almost a mile to see a couple ducks. You might want a wagon unless you want to really wear out the 20 month old or carry him part way. Even a walk around the block is better than another kids cartoon. -_-

The kids will entertain themselves, I had mine outside the other day and my 3 year old managed to pick every daffodil in the yard for mom . Mine are also big on collecting Dandelions and pointing out every bug they can find. I've had mine out with me changing oil and they run around with the biggest wrenches I can find (big wrenches are easier to find than small ones). A trip to home depot and picking up some flowers and sticking them in the ground will burn a day with most young kids. Make sure they dig and put things in for maximum utilization of time.
If you can fit both kids in your truck a nice trail ride and walk around would be huge.
