Ken's Lake vs. Sand Flats campgrounds in Moab

Next April, we will be in Moab with a tow rig (dually), 25' flatbed (2 rigs on it), and a 16' camper trailer.

Has anyone here camped at both places who has an opinion on which is better?

I'm wondering which has less dust, noise, traffic, and wind.

I'm wondering which has less risk of people messing with our stuff when we are away from camp.

Also, wondering which has sufficient room for the truck, trailer, 2 rigs, and camper--looks like the Ken's lake has larger spots.

Kens lake might be the ugliest place in Moab. The camp ground is a little better, but the lake is lame. I like camping at sand flats and they have a big trailer parking spot a ways in to leave the rig while you camp elsewhere. All that said I don't usually camp at either place when I have my rig.

I have camped at Ken's Lake a few times and it was just fine, but they have a limited number of sites and it is hit or miss if you can find an open spot.

All things considered between the two I'd go Ken's lake. Sand flats is more of a PITA to get to, and you'll have honyocks out on night runs waking you up at 1am ;) Definitely less traffic at Ken's lake. The lake isn't lame, but it's too cold to swim in April (I swam 800m there in May, and I should have been wearing booties and a cap along with the wetsuit).

Neat to see a built rig coming out of Montana. I grew up in Missoula and found it sad that I haven't found a trail to bring the jeep when we go back up for family functions.

Kens lake tends to get REALLY windy, just to warn you. It is beautiful out there though.
