....am I the only one that doesn't appreciate the styling of this truck? I just don't get it. I'm sure I'm out of touch because all current trucks are pretty damn ugly to me. ('03-05 Dodges are nice, and I don't HATE the '99-06 Fords)

I do think Hino can kick the crap out of most of what's on the road today.

no where near as ugly as the new fords, IMHO.

What is this thing going to price out at?

I about fell over the other day on a nissan lot. Dropped the wife's car off for service and saw a new titan, the sticker was $44000. I choked, that's more than my Dmax!

I would love to see the imports step up with a "real" truck with a diesel and price it comparable to dodge, ford, chev.

Im not a big fan of the new styling either, Not that I can afford one anywhoo.
Right now MSRP is between $22,300 and $37,800, But im sure it will go up with a diesel

That motor will never make it into a production Toyota. Read the Pirate article.

Also its IFS, doesn't bug me too much but it does alot of people.

To me its still assugly and would probably cost 20K more than a Chevy/Ford/Dodge. No way would I ever be interested.

Now put that motor in say an '84 Chevy, with a set of AAM axles and you'll get my attention.

In the attempt to be original, all the motor companies are just copying each other. The irony. :(

Some of the smaller new chevy's look like they have an upside down face. Reminds me of the kid on family guy.

I did plenty of drooling on it down at SEMA... 8litre I6 Hino, Allison trans, 10.5" rear. Toyota... it will be $10k+ more than the comp, for a reason... it will last longer!

The Hino powerplants have been in service all over the world, they are renound for their extreme reliablity... Toyota is finally entering back into the US diesel market... interesting it took so long. Outside the US they have mastered the diesel markets, just about all of their 4x4 offerings are in diesel, small displacement, high efficiency turbo diesels. Hopefully they run with it...

I think It is awesome obviously get rid of the light bar and bumper... but it is a concept truck so there will obviously be some changes but I really like the idea of it!
