Lake Powell + Striped Bass = BAIT!

Sp, I've always used anchovies when I've fished at Powell, but I'm having a hard time finding some locally. What I'm looking for is frozen ones that I can pick up and toss in the cooler till I have time to toss a line Friday evening. Anyone know where I can pick these up? If worst comes to worst, I'll try Hanksville Friday morning, but I don't want to come up dry.

Point me in the right direction!

Sportsman's warehouse usually has frozen bait fish.
Im not sure if they are anchovies or not.

ziploc? I double zip locked frozen chicken that I had put blackening seasoning on for the maze, and in one day in a super cold cooler I could already smell it. I had to eat it on the first night because I hate nasty stinky coolers.

Aftet that I just had to deal with the stank of leaky hamburgers and other food that I carried for the rest of the group who thought 1 bag of ice in a little cooler would be perfectly fine for 5 days in the maze. some people's kids.

I'm sure there is a solution.

My personal approach is to just eliminate the need for such actions by planning and preparing food that won't become a problem in the first place.

I think Thoreau said it best

I find it still better economy to retreat behind some curtain which nature has provided, than to add a single item to the details of housekeeping. A lady once offered me a mat, but as I had no room to spare within the house, nor time to spare within or without to shake it, I declined it, preferring to wipe my feet on the sod before my door. It is best to avoid the beginnings of evil.

so, what I'm saying is that 3 zip lock bags, duct tape, and tupperware are the beginning of evil. Take that!

Eh, all the years that I spent at Lake Powell, with bait in the cooler, never caused any problems for me. I'll be wrapping them up tightly and keep them seperate from any water/ice. Ziploc's have never failed me!

Kurt, I'll bring a bit of bacon and butter for them ;) Have to sharpen my knife to gut em!

PS, I probably won't catch a thing

I prefer the minute made version of the carpi sun. All the convenience and tasty goodness, only 1/10 of the calories and sugar.

Man, i'm getting old and square. I'm going to go home and bong some capri suns.
