Land rover disco Cage build

Has anyone cut the top off a disco 1 and done a cage?
i have a disco thats built up to the point that the next step is a cage, I was thinking that at the same time i could shave some weight off the truck (rovers have a hell of alot of body roll) at the same time. The biggest problem i see is whether to also remove the rear tailgate or leave it. Keep in mind i would also like to keep it street legal.
