The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies said Thursday it has acquired Proffitt’s Cruisers of Austin, Colo., a company that has restored and built custom Land Cruisers for more than 12 years.

Greg Miller, who heads the company founded by his late father, Larry H. Miller, said plans are to continue operations in Austin while also opening a new headquarters facility at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele.

“Land Cruisers have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” Miller said in a statement announcing the deal. “I have enjoyed my relationship with Jeremiah Proffitt as a friend and fellow Cruiser enthusiast. Having had Proffitt’s build and modify several of my personal Land Cruisers, I am familiar with the premium quality of their work as well as their excellent customer service.”

Miller and Proffitt also plan to open a Land Cruiser museum at Miller Motorsports Park by year’s end. It will house Toyota Land Cruisers from Miller’s and Proffitt’s personal collections. Toyota Land Cruisers were introduced in 1959.

Pretty cool.

Sounds cool. Building a LC museum by year's end? That's like 75 days away.

There's only room in my heart for one Cruiser company, and the position has already been filled!

Despite the New Proffitt's being 7mi from my home, I agree-- CruiserOutfitters FTW! :D

WILL be superstoked about the museum though. That's rad.
