I'll be running Mineral Basin tomorrow night.

Meet at the Chevron at the mouth of the canyon at 5:30 PM.

Anyone is welcome to attend, even if it's your first time ever engaging 4-low. For noobs, I recommend sliders on your rig for the rock garden, but i'm sure many vehicles can make it through without hitting their rocker panels.

We'll drive up there, have dinner at the top, then come down. It'll be a late night. I'd expect to get down the canyon at 11 or 12 AM, but that trail is magical at night.

the trail is about as beautiful as it gets.

It's around the same difficulty as rattlesnake. In other words, the following vehicles would probably not make it:

- subarus
- 2wd vehicles
- 4wd vehicles that don't have much ground clearance (suburbans, stock full size pickups, honda pilot, rav4, etc).

As a guide, the following rigs should be fine, assuming you watch your spotter, and you either have sliders, don't mind rocker panel damage, or you're really careful.

- jeeps
- smaller 4x4s with high clearance
- insert make of your 4x4 here :D

I'll do a friday night run up there soon. I'm guessing you mean saturday in the day, not saturday 'till midnight, right? :D

Not a noob, but sounds fun.. I thinks I could come out for that. Been a while sense I drove mineral basin. Maybe I will bring a friend too. The friend is a noob so I guess that would be good

great, i hope you can make it. My wife will be tagging along for this one too, so i may let her drive most of the way.

Oh, and you don't have to be a noob to run this trail, I just wanted noobs to know that they're welcome to join along. This'll be a good chance to learn how to rock crawl in a small group.

Me and the wife will join ya on this. I need to get the jeep out on its first real run now that everything is fixed (Bushings) We wont be staying real late i have to be to work at 2am Saturday:sick:

great! I imagine there will be a few people who will want to turn around right after the rock garden and head back home for a shorter evening.

how long ago was that? It's pretty washed out this year. But yea, other than the rock garden, it's tough to get body damage up there.

I'll be there in my 91 Nissan Hardbody. It's pretty much stock except for better tires and a rear locker. I've done some basic trails, but not much.

It will be great to learn some technique from you guys.

I love nissan hardbodies. I've always wanted to sas one with a dana 44.
You're more than welcome to sas mine. lol

Question, do any of you know how to tune a cb? I'm going to install a cb and antenna tomorrow before the run. I bought a SWR meter, but I haven't the foggiest idea how to tune it from there. If it's a quick process, maybe one of you guys could take a look at it with me if there is any downtime tomorrow night.

No worries if not. Just a thought.
